This parish used to be in
the
Wapentake of
Strafforth and Tickhill(lower division)
in the West Riding of
Yorkshire until around the year 1900, when
wapentakes were discontinued. The parish included Pickburn, and Scawsby
Hall. The map links here are borrowed from the
Genuki site which gives
extensive genealogy of English Parishes Brodsworth colliery, long closed, now shows a landscaped hill from what was the black spoil heap, or tip as it was always known. |
